Susan Stillman, LCSW
For the past year, I have been an intake therapist for the Neuro-Therapy Clinic, P.C. Working directly with Dr. Hoffman, I have input into the most effective treatment planning for new patients. Oftentimes, I am asked what I like best about working with our team of professionals. My answer is that with our clinic’s access to the latest neurophysiological testing such as the QEEG and rEEG, psychiatry can be a more scientific and objective field to work in. My credentials include a license in clinical social work, having obtained a Master’s degree in social work from the University of Denver. With many years of experience in the field of social work, I have carried the role of psychotherapist, service coordinator and family advocate. In addition to intake support for Dr. Hoffman, I provide psychotherapy for clients who work best with a style that maintains an optimistic view of client’s abilities to cope with and solve their problems. My specialty areas of expertise include depression and anxiety, with an emphasis on cognitive behavioral therapy. I feel that developing informal support systems derived from family, friends, and spiritual sources can be very helpful in therapeutic intervention. I have extensive training in a broad range of social systems that includes cross-systems training within systems of care, bone-deep family support through family advocacy and participation in the Rocky Mountain Colorado Forum on Community and Restorative Justice.
