Dr. Hoffman, Medical Director of the Neuro-Therapy Clinic, Inc., is a Diplomate of the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology.  He is also a Fellow of both the American Psychiatric Association and of the International Society of Neuronal Regulation.  Dr. Hoffman is a member of the American Psychiatric Electrophysiological Association, the International Society for Neurofeedback & Research and the American Neuropsychiatric Association, as well as several other professional organizations. He is a reviewing and consulting editor for four national peer-reviewed journals in Neuropsychiatry and Quantitative EEG.  Dr. Hoffman has lectured internationally, given over 80 presentations and has authored over 50 publications. He was formerly on the Clinical Faculty of the University of Colorado Health Sciences Center. Dr. Hoffman specializes in Neuropsychiatry and Behavioral Disorders in the following areas:

He was a pioneer in the use of Referenced-EEG® (rEEG®) and he helped develop the next evolution of rEEG – PEER Online™, which helps medical professionals exchange information regarding drug treatment therapies found to be successful for patients with similar brainwave patterns.  He also helped develop the PEER Outcome Report™, the report that provides peer-supplied data to physicians regarding patient medication responsivity.  He serves as Chief Medical Officer of CNS Response, the parent company of the Neuro-Therapy Clinic, Inc.  Dr. Hoffman graduated from the University of Michigan in 1970, Wayne State School of Medicine in 1974, and the University of Colorado Health Science Center in 1977, where he was the chief resident his senior year.


Debora K. ArreraDebora K. Arrera, RXN, PMHCNS-BC
Clinical Nurse Specialist

Debora Arrera is a psychiatric Clinical Nurse Specialist with prescriptive authority, which means she is an advanced practice nurse with specialized education/training and is licensed to prescribe medications.  She treats patients and assesses the need for medication as well as providing medication management.  In addition, she is experienced in using PEER Online™ to assist with understanding which medications are most helpful to your brain.  She also uses the Quantitative EEG to assist with the diagnosis of AD/HD in children, adolescents and adults. 

Debora joined the Neuro-Therapy Clinic, Inc. in 2006.  She has over 25 years experience in the mental health field, providing services in both hospital and outpatient settings.  She has held clinical and administrative positions in several hospitals, providing clinical leadership and oversight to patient care areas serving the needs of children, adolescents, adults and geriatrics.

Debora received a bachelor’s degree in nursing from Loretta Heights College in 1984 and a master’s degree in nursing from the University of Colorado Health Science Center in 1992. She was the past president of the Colorado professional organization for Psychiatric Clinical Nurse Specialists- Colorado Society of Clinical Specialists in Psychiatric Nursing (CSCSPN).


Dr. Nicole ShadidNicole Shadid, M.D.
Psychiatrist

Dr. Shadid is a Diplomate of the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology and is a Fellow of both the American Psychiatric Association and of the International Society of Neuronal Regulation as well as several other professional organizations. She specializes in Neuropsychiatry and Behavioral Medicine in the areas of Mood Disorders, Anxiety Disorders, Attention Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorders and Cognitive Disorders.

Dr. Shadid is considered an Integrative Psychiatrist and serves as Vice-Chairman of the American Psychiatric Association Caucus of Integrative Psychiatry. Dr. Shadid is currently undergoing a fellowship in Integrative Psychiatry with the American Board of Integrative Holistic Medicine. Integrative Holistic Medicine, formerly known as Complementary and Alternative Medicine (CAM) is a medical specialty that incorporates caring for the whole person- mind, body, spirit- to treat and prevent illness, as well as empowering patients to create a condition of optimal health far beyond merely the absence of illness. Holistic Medicine physicians believe that patients are best treated when both conventional and alternative treatments are thoughtfully considered and integrated.

Dr. Shadid graduated from the University of Colorado, the University of Oklahoma College of Medicine and the University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center where she completed her psychiatry training. She has participated in research investigating the antidepressant effects of Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS) and Vagus Nerve Stimulation (VNS) at the New York State Psychiatric Institute part of Columbia University Medical Center. 


Jennifer BuchananJennifer Buchanan, LPC, MFT
Licensed Professional Counselor

Jennifer Buchanan has been a therapist with Neuro-Therapy Clinic since 2008. She brings many years of years of experience to the team. Her master's degree in marriage and family therapy led her to develop a successful private practice in Montana. Her areas of expertise include depression, anxiety and other life issues.

She moved to Colorado to develop her career and enjoy the front range of the Rockies. Jennifer has a passion for the environment and nature, in her free time you can find her playing tennis, hiking, skiing as well as spending time with friends.


Jason HowardJason Howard, LPC, CAC III
Neurotherapist and EEG Clinician

Jason Howard is a Licensed Professional Counselor and a Certified Addictions Counselor.  He joined the Neuro-Therapy Clinic, Inc. in May 2005 and works with patients receiving neurofeedback. He is also the EEG clinician.

Jason received his bachelor's degree in psychology and elementary education from Alfred University in Alfred, New York. He received a master's in education, community counseling from the University of Nebraska at Kearney. Jason has worked in the mental health field since 1998 and has experience treating adolescents and adults.

In addition to his neurofeedback and EEG work, Jason also provides therapy to patients on a limited basis. Jason has an eclectic approach to therapy, which utilizes techniques from the schools of humanistic psychology, cognitive behavioral therapy, solution focused therapy, dialectical behavioral therapy, and neurolinguistic programming.


Mary ValuckMary Valuck, LCSW
Intake Specialist

Mary Valuck is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and an intake specialist for the Neuro-Therapy Clinic, Inc. This role involves the assessment of new patients through history collection and review of their current symptoms. She then collaborates with the ongoing treatment team to determine an effective treatment plan for the patient.

Mary has provided psychiatric evaluations for children and adults for over six years. She also has experience as a therapist and a case manager.

Mary has a bachelor's degree in sociology from the University of Illinois at Chicago, and a master’s in social work from the University of Denver. She is also a member of the National Association of Social Workers and is trained in Crisis Incident Stress Management.


Cathy GriffinCathy Griffin
Front Desk Coordinator

Cathy Griffin has worked in the medical field for over 18 years, specializing in education and public speaking for an internationally ranked rehabilitation hospital in Englewood, Colorado.

She has spoken to thousands of Colorado youths, helping them to understand traumatic head injury and spinal cord injury, while emphasizing injury prevention. She obtained a bachelor’s degree in communications from Metropolitan State College in Denver.

Cathy is a Colorado native and couldn’t imagine calling any other place home. In her spare time, Cathy is also a professional recording artist and continues to have a successful singing career.


Lisa BernalLisa Bernal
Office Manager

Lisa Bernal started working with Neuro-Therapy Clinic in 2008. She headed west to Colorado in 1995 after graduating from the University of Wisconsin in Madison. She fell in love with the mountainous playground and now calls the Front Range home.

Lisa brings to the Neuro-Therapy Clinic team a wealth of experience in clinic management. Previously she was the Operations Manager of a busy wellness center.

In her free time Lisa makes jewelry, cooks, hikes, and enjoys visiting her family’s mountain cabin.


Katherine EllestadKatherine Ellestad
Medical Receptionist

Katherine is a team member at the Neuro-Therapy Clinic, Inc. and an advocate for complete wellness in mind and body. She is originally from the East Coast and received a degree from the University of Montana in Missoula after falling in love with the Rockies. She moved to Colorado four years ago to explore this beautiful state.

Katherine is a passionate outdoorswoman and enjoys skiing, snowshoeing, rafting, backpacking and hiking. She has also competed in numerous triathlons, holds a license in Esthetics, and enjoys photography.


Liane CattelinoLiane Cattelino
Director of Financial Operations

Liane Cattelino, Director of Financial Operations, has been with Neuro-Therapy Clinic since its inception in 1993. Over the years, she has worked in all administrative areas of the clinic. She currently oversees the billing of services to insurance companies and patients and deals with all the financial aspects of the clinic.

Liane loves the beautiful Colorado scenery and enjoys the outdoor activities available in the area.
